My name is Matthew. From when I was a child I dreamed of becoming a religious Brother. When I completed my schooling I trained as a medical assistant. I was planning to dedicate another six months to nursing studies when, one day, I was looking at social networks on the internet and I saw an invitation that read: "Do you want to consecrate yourself to God in the service of the sick and the poor?" I was touched by this invitation because I already had some medical expertise and also dreamed of becoming a religious Brother. That same evening, I made contact with someone I knew who was a Brother of the Hospitaller Order of Saint John of God. He guided and helped me to understand more about the Hospitaller Order and its founder and spirit. That is how I am learning and living now. I feel happy with the choice that I have made. My most sincere desire is that I will always be faithful to my vocation and will follow the example of the holy fathers in the service of the poor and the sick.
