365 TESTIMONIES OF HOSPITALITY

Francisco Javier Valencia

I have experienced powerful motivations in my meeting with our Lord, the life of faith of my family, my formation and experiences in the parish, and my gradual process of meeting with poor people (shantytowns, hostels, retirement homes).

In the Order I have had many experiences which have filled me with happiness, such as my missionary experience of 15 years in Peru and Ecuador, particularly those dedicated to formation.

Another fundamental experience was being by the side of the suffering, seeing Jesus in every face, wanting to be understanding, patient and joyful love for them, and showing them that Jesus loves them as they are, and enables them to believe in what they can be.

Hospitaller life has enabled me to become acquainted with different Co-workers and situations in many different places and countries, in all of them continuing to show mercy to those in need of it.

I can see that as an Order, precisely because we are united with Jesus, we are capable of offering health, hope and and meaning to life for so many people who live with pain and suffering.

I am grateful every day to hear and feel that Jesus is calling to me, accompanying me, and that He is the basis on which my whole life rests.

I rejoice to serve in the Order and all together we try every day to carry the Good News of Hospitality to other people with a bold and generous spirit. I dream of being able to give the best of myself, together with my Brothers and Co-workers, to lead them to a Jesus who consoles, forgives and liberates.
