The second meeting of the year of the Europe Commission was held on 14-15 November 2016 at the General Curia in Rome attended by:

Brother Rudolf Knopp, General Councillor of the Europe Region with responsibility for the Bavarian, Austrian and Polish Provinces

Brother Giampietro Luzzato, General Councillor with responsibility for the Italian Provinces

Brother Benigno Ramos Rodriguez, General Councillor with responsibility for the Spanish and Portuguese Provinces

Brother Alain Samuel Jeancler, Provincial of the French Province, Paris

Fra Joachim Mačejovský, Provinciale della Provincia Austriaca, Vienna

Brother Miguel Angel Varona, Provincial of the Castile Province, Madrid

Dr. Carlo Galasso, Director of the European Office, Brussels

Brother Moisés Martín, Director of the General Curia Missions and International Cooperation Office, took part in the discussion of agenda item 6 (on Missions and International Cooperation).

The other key agenda items discussed were:

The Assembly of Major Superiors (7-11 November 2016): conclusions for the Europe Commission

The Conference of European Provincials (10-11 November 2016): evaluation; the future structure of the European Commission, reflections on the Common Novitiate, communication

Other matters had been previously discussed in detail at the Assembly of Major Superiors held a few days before the meeting.

In the final week of August 2017, Fatima, Portugal: European’s Scholastics’ meeting

November 2017, Rome, Italy: second part of the formation course for European Provincial Curia executive directors (date to be decided)

At the meeting on 14 - 15 November, the meeting was attended for the first time by the Provincial of Austria, Brother Joachim Mačejovský, replacing the Polish Provincial, Brother Eugeniusz Kret.
