The Hospitaller Order’s Meeting on Cooperation and Solidarity
networking with Latin America
The Northern South American Province has just hosted the Cooperation and Solidarity Meeting on 22-24 June, in Lima, Peru, at which all the Provinces and Delegations of the Hospitaller Order in Latin America were represented, to work out jointly-agreed ways of managing Fundraising, Voluntary Service, Projects and Twinnings.
The region’s Cooperation and Solidarity Team, animated from the General Curia by Brother Moisés Martín Boscá – Director of the Missions and International Cooperation Office, are increasingly convinced that the Solidarity and Hospitality of the O.H. are best manifested through the appropriate use of networking, in the Provinces and Delegations of Latin America, though the crosscutting work of international cooperation, almsgiving and fundraising, twinning and voluntary service, lead towards greater professionalization in all these areas.
The Meeting received substantial proposals for the charismatic management of the Order: making Twinnings a viable reality in the region, beginning the drafting of a voluntary service handbook for Latin America, proposing a brand image for Regional Fundraising and creating a platform for project management training purposes, and other proposals for improvements.
