Earthquake Emergency in Ecuador
Juan Ciudad ONGD is raising funds and come to the aid of the victims of the Ecuador earthquake
All donations are being sent to the Albergue San Juan de Dios home in Quito, which is distributing the assistance in the earthquake-stricken areas
Juan Ciudad ONGD, the Spanish international cooperation agency of the Hospitaller Order of Saint John of God, is raising funds to be sent to the Albergue San Juan de Dios in Quito, which, in the past few hours, has been converted into a centre for the collection and distribution of emergency assistance, in coordination with the Ecuadorian Ministry of Economic and Social Inclusion.
In view of the acutely critical plight of the
Province of Manabí, which has suffered from the worst effects of the earthquake,
with a magnitude of 7.8 on the Richter scale last Saturday, 16 April, Albergue
San Juan de Dios yesterday sent two truckloads of foodstuffs, drinking water,
miscellaneous equipment, food, etc to Pedernales, which was one of the most devastated
towns.
The Community of the Brothers of St John of God in Quito and a large number of Co-workers and volunteers are continuing to do their utmost to get the aid through to the people living in the stricken areas as quickly as possible.
