Finance Commission meeting

The General Commission on Finance and Statistics met at the General Curia in Rome on 7 and 8 April, 2016.


A major agenda item was devoted to analysing the 2015 General Curia accounts, to which a few minor adjustments were made, so that it could be forwarded for adoption by the General Council. Bro. Rudolf Knopp announced that the restructuring work scheduled for the General Curia would begin on April 11. Another important agenda item was the survey of financial data on the Order’s cen another one finished tres with a high level of economic and financial complexity. This matter was successfully completed thanks to the competent and generous hard work of Dolores Saenz (Aragon) and Adolf Inzinger (Austria). In future, the Provincial consolidated accounts questionnaire would be accompanied by a second questionnaire to be compiled by about 70 centres. These were the main matters discussed on the first day.


On the 2nd day, the delegates of the Latin America, Asia-Pacific and Africa Regions were invited to take part. The purpose of this enlarged meeting was to identify and discuss the problems encountered by the Regions when filling in the financial and care statistics questionnaires. Pietro Cacciarelli raised the main problems currently facing the Curia when evaluating and analysing the questionnaires compiled in all 3 Regions. For the Europe Region, this was a matter that had previously been discussed during the Europe Commission meeting.
